Woman On 'First Dates' Bails Without Telling Her Date

She left it to the waitress to break the news.

What's worse than going on a first date and your potential future partner deciding early doors to bail on you? Going on First Dates and your date deciding early doors to bail on you.

Yep, this is the brutal situation Lewis found himself in on a recent quest for romance.

For most of us, getting ditched mid-date would be a reasonably private thing. You might phone your mum and tell her, and the staff at the venue, but other than that you can keep it pretty low-key.

Lewis didn't have this luxury, though, as his ditching happened on national telly for all to see.

It gets off to a bad start, when she tells him she likes to share food and he really does not. She then orders his side for him, telling him: "I get my own way every time."

She then answered her phone during the meal. Lewis tells her: "I think if you're out you should switch your phone off." And it's then that Jade realises the pair have little in common.

But rather than doing the polite, good mannered thing and telling Lewis that she can't see the date going anywhere and ending things properly, she decides to bail on him.

Leaving the table, Jade says: "I'll be two minutes, babe." But she tells the waitress she's not coming back and does a runner.

The poor waitress is tasked with delivering the bad news. She apologises on Jade's behalf and asks if he's alright. To be fair, he seems like a good LAD. I don't think he was feeling it, either.

Viewers were less than impressed with the way Jade handled the situation, calling her rude and disrespectful.

Others couldn't get past the fact that she'd left without offering Lewis any money for her half of the bill.

Jade at least has the decency to feel bad about it, though, telling the camera: "I feel so guilty, but I just couldn't stay any longer."

Ah, Lewis. There's plenty more fish in the sea, mate.
