'Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2' Voted Best COD Game

'Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2' Voted Best COD Game

'Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare' comes in second place, which few people would probably argue with.

Let's start with a simple disclaimer - there's no such thing as an objectively correct list. People have different tastes in different things, whether that's music, film, art or computer games.

Except when it comes to computer games, there's a pretty universal opinion that Call Of Duty: Black Ops isn't very good. It's not that it's awful, but it's just not that great, compared to the other games in the franchise.

So it's a bit of a shock to see that 2010 version of the warfare game franchise sitting at number three spot on Ranker's, um, rank of every single Call Of Duty game ever released. Which, at the moment, comes to 21.

Ahead of Black Ops is 2009's Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 at the top spot, and Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in second place, which few people would probably argue with. But Black Ops at number 3 seems a little, well, out of place.

Cobbled together from over 20,000 votes, the list places the original Call Of Duty - released in 2003 - at number nine. In the bottom spot - for now, at least, as the list can change if more people vote for it - is 2013's Call Of Duty: Modern Ghosts.

Of course, the premise for all of the games is basically the same. Which is that you go around shooting shit - and other people - up. But there were significant issues with Black Ops, not least that the actual game itself was pretty short, the graphics weren't much of an improvement on what had come before, and it was plagued by some rather stodgy AI.

But, as we said, different strokes for different folks, and it seems a lot of people actually like (or even enjoy) frustrating gameplay and little glitches that get you stuck in a never-ending loop that quickly turns into a metaphor for your life and makes you wish you'd never been born in the first place.

So yes. There's no such thing as an objectively correct list, but if there's such a thing as an objectively incorrect list, then this is most definitely it.
