Gamers Have Spotted An 'Infinity War' Easter Egg In 'God Of War'

Ever wanted to cosplay as a certain purple supervillain?

Eagle-eyed gamers have spotted an Easter egg hidden in the game God of War that links it to the box-office crushing, record breaking film Avengers: Infinity War.

Kratos (the main character of God of War) can put together his own Norse Infinity Gauntlet similar to the one that Thanos uses in Infinity War.

A Reddit user - who definitely has too much time on his hands -called moxxxxxi discovered the hidden feature and realised that by adding certain enchantments to a certain weapon within the game he could run around shooting purple blasts out of his fist in the style of everyone's favourite purple supervillain and Avenger antagonist.

The attentive Redditor posted: "If you put 3 of 6 possible Enchantments which contain a reference to the six infinity stones into the fully upgraded "Shattered Gauntlet of Ages" Talisman you get to shoot purple projectiles out of your fist like Thanos!"

Basically, what this means is that there are six enchantments that each correspond to a different Infinity Stone, combine the lot and you've got yourself a fully functional Infinity Gauntlet.

So, the enchantments are: Andvari's Soul is the Soul Stone, Njord's Temporal Stone is the Time Stone, the Eye of the Outer Realm is the Space Stone, Ivaldi's Corrupted Mind is the Mind Stone, Asgard's Shard of Existence is the Reality Stone, and Muspelheim's Eye of Power is the Power Stone.

If you understood even a single word of that, you're probably the kind of person who wants to run around of God of War pretending to be an evil genius from a comic book movie, so you're welcome.

You can find the Shattered Gauntlet of Ages during the 'Family Business' quest if you are so inclined.

The relic is described in the game as: "An ancient relic of Hel deemed too powerful to remain whole, fragments of its former strength lie scattered throughout the realms,"

Interestingly (or not, as the case may be) God of War and Avengers: Infinity War came out really close to each other. This suggest that this whole thing is not a coincidence.

Admittedly, the idea of Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet has been around for ages, so it might be simply the fact that people who make games are big fans of comic books. Imagine that, eh?

To be fair, it's not the only coincidence. Even those who don't know anything could spot that Kratos and Thor are quite similar.
