Logan Paul To Release Documentary About His Suicide Forest Video Scandal

Logan Paul faced criticism from literally everyone on the planet when he chose to upload footage of someone who had taken their own life, but he's now decided to make a documentary about his decision.

The news was revealed during a video update posted to his YouTube channel, which has over 17 million subscribers, and it has caused a bit of an Internet storm.

During the vlog, he explained the main focus of the project, summarising as: "All the stuff that went down in January, where I was at in my life and kind of the psyche of what actually happened."

It will act as an explanation for what he was thinking before and after he uploaded the controversial clip - if you missed it, here's a quick rundown:

The 23-year-old made a vlog while visiting Japan and was labelled as disrespectful throughout his entire trip - however, there was one section of footage which really crossed the line.

He was exploring the Aokigahara forest in the Chūbu region of Honshum, locally referred to as the 'Suicide Forest', where the rate for people taking their own life is one of the highest in the coutnry.

Unfortunately, Paul stumbled upon a body, which resulted in him creating a YouTube video to show everyone what he found.

He actually included images of the man's body, which could be seen hanging from a tree. With much of his audience being of a relatively young age, the clip was seen by five million people before he decided to take it down.

Paul made a number of apologetic videos and social media posts after the incident, but it still doesn't seem like he's ready to put this bad decision behind him.

At the time of the controversial vlog, he was working hard to upload a new video every day, and this new documentary is said to explore the burnout problems YouTubers face when constantly making new content.

It has been suggested that the project may discuss the pressures felt by vloggers to create new videos and get clicks.

It actually started to look like Logan's career was beginning to get back on track, with a boxing match with fellow YouTuber KSI providing a massive chance for him to regain some popularity.

The event, which is scheduled to take place in Manchester, is expected to be one of the highest viewed YouTube streams ever, and is certainly the kind of positive exposure Paul needs right now.

We're not sure whether this new project will end up working the way he intends, but only time will tell if the documentary pays off.
