Here's how people reacted to the trailer:
The game had previously been touted for the final quarter of 2017, however, earlier this yearthe publisher was forced to move the date back.
In a statement online, the gaming publisher said: "The game will be the first Rockstar game created from the ground up for the latest generation of console hardware, and some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans.
"We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready. We are really excited to bring you more details about the game this summer."
The game is slated for release on PS4 and Xbox One although, as with the original, the developers have yet to comment on the possibility of a PC release. The latest trailer follows the first one that came out last year:
Rockstar says that it will tell "an epic tale of life in America's unforgiving heartland," adding: "The game's vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience."
The original Red Dead Redemption was released in 2010, fetching an aggregate score of 95 out of 100 on Metacritic and scooping several 'Game Of The Year' awards. The game has sold over 15 million copies worldwide.
