Data Mining Account Leaks What Could Be New Fortnite Map

A popular Fortnite data mining account has leaked images of the game's map, with what looks like some major changes.

The account, which goes by the name @TwoEpicBuddies, has become known for its Fortnite related leaks in the past, which have usually proven to be accurate. Although, Epic Games hasn't confirmed that any changes will be taking place, gamers may still take the leak seriously.

The build up to season 5 of the game has been pretty epic, from last Saturday's rocket launch event, to the mysterious appearance of the 'Durr Burger' in a Californian Desert, players are excited to see what it all means and what Epic Games has in store for us in season 5.

A lot of the speculation as to what could change in the game is aimed at the game's huge, open world map.

@TwoEpicBuddies posted what the image on Twitter might look like and said: "Looks great, video will drop in 4 hours!"

The post was soon followed by a link to a video on YouTube which features a gamer playing Fortnite on what looks like a completely different map.

The terrain and colour of the map seem to have changed, the colour of much of the scenery resembles that of a yellow desert, which might explain why the life-sized 'Durr Burger' that appeared in a Californian desert after Saturday's live event.

Some of the Fortnite community have spoken out against the video, labeling it a fake.

Popular Twitter user @MrMuselk said: "To clarify, this is not the new map, the grass textures from standard Fortnite have just been swapped with the desert textures from Save the World."

He added: "You're probs gonna see some A+ 'NEW MAP' Clickbait over the next few days showin this stuff. So beware."

Epic Games has neither confirmed nor denied whether what can be seen in the video is genuine, and whether or not it will be making changes to the game's world map. But if the video is a fake the creator of it did a damn good job, the sandy terrain fits in perfectly with the game map.

With season 5 of the game fast approaching, fans can only speculate on what they think will be coming next, but there's one thing that is almost certain, fan speculations and debates will carry on until season 5's advent.
