For many football fans, the release of the new FIFA is their only chance of claiming glory for their favourite teams. That's why hundreds of gamers will queue outside stores on release day trying to get their hands on the latest version and thousands will be refreshing the Playstation store waiting for their digital download to begin.
If you're looking forward to spending your hard earned cash trying to get an edge on Ultimate team and ignoring your significant others for weeks on end then you'll be happy to know that FIFA 20 is going to be the best version yet.
In case you didn't know, FIFA 20 is the next installment of EA Sports' famous football sim. As well as being home to the ever-popular Ultimate Team mode, it's bringing back career mode and will be introducing a FIFA Street-esque mode, VOLTA.

When does FIFA 20 come out?

EA Sports finally announced the release date at E3 2019. It will drop on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC Windows and Nintendo Switch (Legacy edition) on 27 September, 2019.
If you buy either the Champions Edition or Ultimate edition digitally, you can play the game three days earlier than anyone else on 24 September.
When does the FIFA 20 demo come out?

Based on previous release dates, there should be a demo two weeks before full release - meaning 12 September 2019 is the most likely date that you can play FIFA 20 on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC.
When will FIFA 20 pre-order start?
Early access members - i.e those prepared to pay for it - will be able to get hold of the game on September 24th.

Will FIFA 20 have Career Mode and Ultimate team?
Unfortunately nothing new was shown about Career Mode and Ultimate Team at E3. They're definitely still a thing though. We're hoping to get some big improvements but we'll have to wait and see.

EA Sports revealed VOLTA football for the first time at E3 2019. They describe it as, "A brand-new style of gameplay grounded in football realism which immerses players in the flow of the street with new tools including simplified flicks and skill moves, new flair animations, or using the wall as a teammate."
If you're familiar with the old FIFA Street games I think you'll feel at home with VOLTA.
"Football intelligence" was a term which kept popping up at E3 too. It consists of three aspects.
1. Authentic game flow - for realistic football movement for all players on the pitch.
2. Decisive movements - four revamps of already existing concepts which include Strafe Dribbling, Controller Tackling, Set Piece Refresh and Composed Finishing.
3. Ball physics - new shot trajectories and more realistic tackle interactions for better 'physics driven behaviour'.
As with all of the previous titles, you may have to play a few games before you can appreciate the subtle tweaks and wonder how you ever played FIFA without them.

Who will be on the FIFA 20 cover?
Finally, the FIFA 20 cover stars have been revealed. There will be three stars, one for each version of the game.
Eden Hazard is the star of the standard edition, donning the Real Madrid kit after his move this summer.
The Champions edition will feature Liverpool defender, Virgil Van Dijk.
Saving the best until last, legendary player and now manager Zinedine Zidane makes the cover of FIFA 20's Ultimate edition.
