Eminem was born Marshall Mathers in St. Joseph, Missouri on the 17th October 1972, making him 46 years old. His family moved to Detroit in a black neighbourhood where he says he faced racial beatings. Before he discovered his passion for rap music, he wanted to write comic books. He didn't have the best relationship with his mother, and when she went out to play bingo, Marshall would blast out his music and write songs.

Marshall would spend his free time having rap battles with his friends before he was recruited by a number of rap groups including D12. He released album 'Infinite' in 1996, which was a complete flop. Spurred on by the criticism of his first solo album, he pushed harder than ever to perfect his style. Fortunately, Dr. Dre spotted him in 1997 and they released 'The Slim Shady LP' two years later. It went Platinum. Now he's known as one of the best rappers ever.

Controversy is just part of being a rapper these days. Fellow rapper called Machine Gun Kelly has been trying to ride on the back of Eminem's fame recently and appeared to reference him on new track 'Floor 13'.
"I just spent too many minutes watching little videos of s***ty wannabe rappers dissing me/I just spent the winter living after someone tried to send a kill shot missing me."
He continues: "One legend that tried to f**k with me and got the venom."
We're sure that a $210million net worth is a decent enough cure for whatever venom Kelly reportedly gave the rap legend.
