The Oasis reunion is definitely off

It doesn't look like Noel and Liam Gallagher will be sharing a friendly pint any time soon if the older brother's latest interview is anything to go by. The Oasis brothers have always had a rocky relationship, but Noel has said he'll never forgive Liam for sending his daughter Anais a text message which read: "Tell your step Mam to be very careful."

The warning was seemingly in response to comments on Instagram by Noel's wife, Sara McDonald, where she was asked if she would be watching Liam's set at Glastonbury. She replied: "Think I'm going to swerve that. The fat t**t doing his tribute act, balancing a tambourine on his head is going to look pretty dated after Stormzy."

Noel subsequently leaked the message on Twitter. Liam later apologised but it seems Noel is having none of it.

Noel told The Guardian that Liam had sent threatening messages to his family before: "That's not the first time he's sent texts to my daughter, or left threatening phone calls on my wife's answering machine."

He continued: "So when he's threatening my wife via my teenage daughter, I'm thinking, you know, if you weren't a rock star, if you were just an uncle who worked in a garage, you'd be getting a visit from the police. But because you're a rockstar, wahey, you get away with that s**t."

Noel was then asked if their relationship was past the point of repair, to which he nodded and replied: "Because I've got one fatal flaw in my otherwise perfect makeup as a human being, which is I don't forgive people."

Noel added: "Once you start texting my children - and his two sons have been going for her, too - and legitimise my wife being bullied on the internet, where she has to shut down Instagram accounts because of the vile s**t being written about her and my daughter, then it ain't happening."

The interview comes after Noel took to Twitter to slam his brother's actions. The message read: "So you're sending threatening messages via my teenage daughter now are you?

"You always were good at intimidating women though eh? What you planning on doing anyway?

"Grabbing my wife by the throat to show her who's boss...or maybe trying to waddle through our double gates and performing 'Shitwave' in the communal garden or daubing your wank lyrics on the toilet walls?

The message continued: "If I wake up to find one of the kids gerbils upside down on the cheeseboard with a knife in it I'll be sure to inform the local care in the community officer.

"And don't try and kidnap the cat either we've just employed Ross Kemp as his close protection officer.

"Enjoy the summer big tits. Catch up soon.

Liam later apologised for the messages shortly after and tweeted: 'My sincere apologies to my beautiful mum Peggy and my lovely niece Anais for getting caught up in all of this childish behaviour I love you both dearly LG x."

Noel also delivered a stinging assessment of his brother's solo material.

"I think it's unsophisticated music," he said. "For unsophisticated people. Made by an unsophisticated man. Who's giving unsophisticated orders to a load of songwriters who think they're doing the Oasis thing.

"I reckon if I put my two sons in a room - one's nine, one's 11 - for about 45 minutes, they could probably muster up something better than that new single of his."

Ouch.

It doesn't look like the apology will be accepted any time soon. If you were hoping for that Oasis reunion, you may have to wait a little longer. Like the end of time. Then a bit longer still.
