Zendaya Coleman was born in Oakland, California on 1 September 1996, making her 22 years old. She began acting as a child and appeared in productions at the California Shakespeare Theatre and other productions near her hometown.
She began her professional career as a model, appearing in ads for Macy's and Old Navy. She also appeared as a dancer adverts and music videos. In 2010, she landed her first gig on television as Rocky Blue on the popular Disney Channel series, "Shake It Up". After that she signed a three-year deal with Disney to star on another series called K.C. Undercover.
In 2017, Zendaya decided it was time to tackle the big screen and played M.J in Marvel's Spider-Man: Homecoming. She then starred alongside Hugh Jackman in The Greatest Showman.

In 2018 Zendaya lent her voice to two animation films: Duck Duck Goose and Smallfoot. She then reprised her role as Michelle "M.J." Jones in Spider-Man: Far From Home in 2019.
She then decided to step away from her Disney image and signed on for HBO series Euphoria, which is like the American version of Skins. Based on the turbulent adolescent years of creator Sam Levinson, the show generated buzz ahead of its June 2019 debut for its graphic depictions of teen drug use and sexuality.
Zendaya spoke to The New York Times about the provocative content: "I don't find it that shocking, to be honest. People will. I kind of accepted the fact that it would be polarizing. Whether people like it or not, it's real. I'm telling somebody's story. Just because it's not happening to you doesn't mean it's not happening all the time, every day."

Despite just being 22 years old, she already managed to juggle a music career alongside her acting one. She was paired with professional dancer Val Chmerkovskiy on Dancing with the Stars and launched her first tour in August of 2012. As a singer Coleman released her debut studio album Zendaya in 2013 and the album reached #51 on the Billboard 200 chart. She had success with the single "Replay" which reached #20 on the US Pop chart, #40 on the Billboard Hot 100, and #8 in Australia and was certified Platinum.
Other pursuits
If acting and singers weren't enough, Zendaya has also written a book called 'Between U and Me: How to Rock Your Tween Years with Style and Confidence' - and she has a clothing and shoe line.
