Cheryl Tweedy (or Cole, or Fernandez-Versini) made a comeback to the music industry with a performance on the Sunday night show of The X Factor, and it didn't go quite to plan.
The former Girls Aloud singer took to the stage of the results show to give fans a taste of her new single 'Love Made Me Do It', but the performance was slammed by viewers who described it as 'cringey', 'uncomfortable' and 'horrendous' - ouch.
Comments about the star varied from talking about her singing, the single and the moment she licked her hand. Yes, she actually did.

One person commented: "Did anyone else find Cheryl Cole's X factor performance uncomfortable to watch? Orrrr...?"
Another said: "Smashed it? It was horrendous, and the most generic sounding song ever, awful performance."
A third tweeted: "Did Cheryl really just lick her hand on X factor so so cringe that was awful #XFactor."
Some people were more focused on the celeb's outfit for the performance, comparing Cheryl to a certain famous Johnny Depp character.
"But who wore it better? Cheryl or Edward Scissorhands? #XFactor #Cheryl," someone jibed on Twitter.

However, one person did say the 35-year-old's redeeming moment of the evening was that she definitely performed live, they commented: "This Cheryl performance is incredibly awkward. At least she's not miming I guess? #xfactor."
This is the first act the former X Factor judge singer has released since her 2014 single 'Crazy Stupid Love' - there's definitely a theme of what she likes to sing about here.
Though, not everyone was disappointed by the Gerodie singer's performance, some fans were excited to see the pop star making a comeback - some hailed her as 'perfect' while others said she 'smashed it'.

Her performance certainly divided opinion, but the new single has been laced with controversy since its release at the beginning of November. Many people have accused the star of aiming some of her 'Love Made Me Do It' lyrics at her ex-partner, and ex-One Direction member, Liam Payne.
Cheryl and Liam split, officially, earlier this year, but the star denied that her lyric 'fall in love with every fucker' is about him or any other ex.
