Slappa da' bass.

In a lot of instances bass players are put down.

People see the bass as the easiest instrument to play, and sometimes it is, though to be really good at it is something quite difficult to achieve.

It can be really simple, or it can be really hard. Check out John McVie's riff on the outro of Fleetwood Mac's 'The Chain', and you'll know what I'm on about.

Also, looking cool while playing the bass isn't an easy feat. It has to be mastered. Luckily, Paul Rudd knows a thing or two...

The 12-year-old son of Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo is also a guy who knows a thing or two.

Tye Trujillo has temporarily joined Korn on their current tour, as Reginald 'Fieldy' Arvizu, had to drop out.

"In a statement, Korn said: "On April 17 Korn is heading down to South America for a run of dates in Columbia, Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Peru. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Fieldy is unable to make the shows so the band will be joined by a special guest.

"Filling in for bass duties will be Tye Trujillo, the 12-year old son of Metallica's Robert Trujillo and member of NorCal group The Helmets.

"We are bummed Fieldy can't join us on this run but excited to do a few gigs with a young player like Tye. We look forward to welcoming our brother Fieldy back when we return to the States in May.

"Fieldy will resume Korn's 2017 tour at Carolina Rebellion on May 6."

Young Tye made his live debut, and, well, like father, like son...

No matter what you say this is cool as fuck. The kid's getting some real experience and he clearly knows what he's doing. Plus, it's just good PR. It makes the band look good. However, the comments haven't been as kind...

Prior to him embarking on his journey, some fans were a bit skeptical.

One fan wrote: "Are you fuckin serious???? Fuck that. You don't come often to South America, some people waited for YEARS and this happens. I'm not blaming Fieldy, he must have good reasons but at least show some respect adding a professional player like Ryan from Mudvayne like you did some years ago. This fuckin sucks!

"PS. I've seen 3 videos of the kid playing, not impressed, he is just good for his age. People is paying good money to see the complete line up."

Korn have been around for ages. Originally, James Shaffer, Reginald Arvizu, and David Silveria were in a band called L.A.P.D. David Silveria was only 16 when he joined. The fourth member was Richard Morrill, They released their first full-length studio album on May 3, 1991 which consisted of eleven tracks. The album was called Who's Laughing Now.

They released two albums before breaking up.

Eventually, Shaffer, Arvizu, and Silveria got Brian Welch and Jonathan Davis in to form the band that went on to become Korn.

When they were considering names, 'Corn' was originally suggested. However, it was rejected. Then Shaffer said they should spell it with a 'K' and put the 'R' backwards. Cue one of the simplest and most iconic names in nu-metal history- KoЯn.

They became known for their unique sound. In fact, when they were spotted by Epic Records A&R employee Paul Pontius, he described their sound as 'the new genre of rock'.

Nu-metal was born.

12 studio albums, three live albums, eight compilation albums, seven video albums, seven extended plays, 43 singles, nine promotional singles and 45 music videos later, they've cemented themselves in music history.
