Legendary musician Prince died of an opioid overdose, a law enforcement official has told the Associated Press.
The singer, famous for 80s albums Purple Rain and Sign o' the Times amongst others, died aged 57 on 21 April at his Paisley Park estate in Minnesota.
Although rumours of the reason for his passing have previously been reported, Associated Press are believed to have spoken to a source close to the coroner's investigation.
The AP article says: "Investigators have been reviewing whether Prince died of an overdose and whether a doctor was prescribing him drugs in the weeks before his death."
