As usual when tickets for big events go on sale, the pre-sale for Liam Gallagher's forthcoming UK tour sold out in minutes and that has pissed a lot of people off.

Fans complained that they had pre-ordered his debut solo album As You Were to gain access to pre-sale but were unable to buy tickets due to technical errors and touts.

NME reports that some punters weren't even sent an access code despite being eligible. Tickets also started popping up on other sites after the initial sale on Ticketmaster, going for as much as £374.

After his Twitter account was bombarded with complaints Liam Gallagher responded, saying: "COOL IT OUT.

"We're sorting it out stay cool brothers n sisters [sic].

"More tickets coming back on sale and we are enforcing limited per person & cancelling any multiple purchases [sic]."

A spokesperson told NME that "no technical issues [had been] experienced", adding: "This was a very high demand event, and a simple case of demand outweighing supply.

"In no way did having a pre-sale code guarantee a ticket - it was a first come, first served basis. There will be a further pre-sale tomorrow."

General sale for the tour is on Friday.
