Melle Mel's Eminem diss-track labelled 'worst piece of music released in 2023'

Melle Mel's Eminem diss-track labelled 'worst piece of music released in 2023'

The diss track failed to live up to the hype

As far as rap battles go, this might not be one for the ages but the feud between Eminem and Melle Mel is getting pretty petty.

The pair have been involved in an intense war of words, with both rappers releasing diss tracks about the other artist.

While they might be trying to channel their anger with the new tracks, Mel’s offering has come under fire for being the ‘worst piece of music in 2023’.

Even more shockingly, the 62-year-old was the one who initially caused the argument.

It was after the Furious Five bandmate criticised the ‘Rap God’ and argued that Eminem’s success was largely due to his skin tone.

During his appearance on The Art Of Dialogue in March, Mel made the tone-deaf comment and questioned whether Slim Shady deserved his spot on Billboard's Top 50 Rappers of All Time list.

He said: "So now if Eminem was another n**** like all the rest of us, would he be Top 5 on that list when a n**** that could rhyme just as good as him is 35?

"That had records and all that? He's 35. He's white."

Understandably, Eminem responded with a diss track which was titled the ‘Realest’.

Rather than face the music and accept defeat, Mel then penned his own record hitting out at the 50-year-old.

However, ‘Melle Mel’s Response to Eminem Latest Diss’ performed pretty poorly - just read the lyrics for yourself (and yes, that is the real title).

It goes: "The Top 5 is cap… you the p**s that’s on the floor in the elevator of rap…"

He then referred to the beef between The Game and Shady, adding: “Why you ducking on The Game when you s**t on my name?

“Why they put Pee-Wee Herman in the Hall of Fame?”

Understandably, music fans roasted Mel for his sub-par rap game.

After the track was uploaded to YouTube, many of Mel’s followers have been teasing the rapper in the comments.

One even argued that track proved Eminem was right, writing: “There is NO WAY this is real, lmao. If so, Melle LITERALLY just proved Eminem’s point.”

Another joked that the felt second-hand embarrassment, adding: “Damn Mel. You were better off not responding at all. I hope this flies under the radar. I'm embarrassed for you.”

A third compared it to a previous Eminem diss track, commenting: "I never thought it was possible to make a worse diss than Nick Cannon’s disses to Em.”

They added: “Today, I was proven wrong. Well done.”

While another took to Twitter and wrote: "Melle Mel dropped his Diss response track to Eminem… and I can confidently say it’s the worst piece of music released in 2023."

Hopefully, this means the musicians can go back to making sweet music.
