'Love Island' Star Sophie Gradon Dead At 32, Police Confirm

​Sophie Gradon, who was known for appearing on ITV reality series ​'Love Island​', has died at the age of 32, according to police

Sophie Gradon, who was known for appearing on ITV reality series Love Island, has died at the age of 32, according to a police statement.

A statement issued by Northumbria police says the star was found in her home at 8.27pm on Wednesday.

The statement read: "At about 8.27pm yesterday (June 20) police attended a property in Medburn, Ponteland, where sadly a 32-year-old woman was found deceased.

"There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding her death. A report will now be prepared for the coroner."

Her boyfriend Aaron Armstrong posted a photo of the two of them on Facebook today, captioning it: "I will never forget that smile. I love you so so much baby, you're my world forever and always."

Sophie was best known for appearing on the show last year, alongside contestants including Olivia Buckland and Alex Bowen.

Tributes have begun pouring in for the former Miss Newcastle, with fellow reality TV star Holly Hagan saying: "You were only helping me battle the Twitter trolls yesterday. Rest in peace beautiful."

Hagan later added: "If you're struggling right now PEOPLE CARE ABOUT YOU! I promise. Please speak to someone

Former Love Island co-star Olivia Buckland also tweeted:


Love Island's Kady McDermott also posted crying and broken heart emojis, adding in another tweet: "Make sure to go out of your way today to ask people how they are and to care, you never know what people are truly going through in their lives."

Montana Brown, another star from last year's series, wrote that she was 'in shock', saying: "My thoughts are with you and your family @sophiegradon the heavens have gained an angel RIP beautiful girl."

The show's presenter, Caroline Flack, said: "So very sad. Such a beautiful soul.... such a beautiful smile... thoughts and love with friends and family @sophiegradon".

Meanwhile, Miss Great Britain organisers said they were 'shocked beyond belief'.
