YouTube sensation Jake Paul is engaged to Tana Mongeau.

Tana confirmed the news on her Twitter and Instagram accounts.

In a story to her Instagram account, she wrote: "I'm engaged @jakepaul."

She wrote on Twitter: "JAKE JUST PROPOSED." Later adding: "I'm....... engaged.................."

Since she posted the tweet earlier today, it's received more than 47,000 likes and hundreds of comments from people congratulating the happy couple.

And some were clearly over the moon for the pair of social media stars.

One fan said: "A CAR! A RING! AND A TV SHOW!!!! LITERALLY NOBODY CAN TOP YOUR 21st!!!! EVER!!!! HAPPY MOTHERF***ING BIRTHDAY TAKE A SHOT FOR MY LAME ASS SITTING AT HOME NOT AT THE BAR!!! #tanaturns21 #happybirthdaytana."

The couple announced the news on Instagram.

Not everyone was too supportive of the couple's engagement, however.

Criticising the announcement, one person wrote: "damn you need to chill y'all kissed once and now y'all married?"

A second person said: "Tana, please... Don't play me like this girl, this better be for realsies."

While another added: "Sis is time to go night night we can reflect and make better decisions tomorrow."

It's been a bit of a whirlwind few hours for Tana. To celebrate her 21st birthday, Jake gave her a brand new Mercedes worth around $124,000 (£97,377).

Sharing a picture of the pair in front of the new whip, Tana wrote: "Never give up on your dreams, kids. THANK U BABY."

Jake then commented on the photo, writing: "U deserve it," before posting the same picture with the caption: "Happy birthday bb."

Today's news is decidedly better than Jake has been enjoying in recent weeks, after fans kicked off with his advert for an intern which neglected to mention any form of payment... Unless of course you count 'real life experience, connections, exposure and a whole lotta fun' as sufficient remuneration.

The 22-year-old shared the 'in-house producer and engineer' internship advertisement on Twitter and Instagram and people were quick to point out the fact there was no mention of payment.

The advert read: "If you are a young aspiring music producer & engineer, pls read.

"We are in need of a full time in-house producer/engineer who will mainly act as an engineer for us.

"This will be an internship position and will provide you with real life experience, connections, exposure, & a whole lotta fun.

"We want a hard working person who's proficient in recording on all softwares (pro tools, logic, fl, ableton, etc..)."
