The Rock Responded Brilliantly To A Picture Comparing Him With Cristiano Ronaldo

Would the Ballon d'Or winner be able to go one-on-one with the great one?

There isn't a man on the planet we love more than Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and when he's getting involved with banter about how he and Cristiano Ronaldo look... well, we love him even more of course.

Whether he's laying the smackdown on opponents in a WWE ring, saving (or blowing up) the world in a film role or cutting a promo with his good friend Kevin Hart, Dwayne Johnson is almost always the most brilliant man in the room.

These days the most electrifying man in all of sports entertainment can barely put a foot wrong but right at the beginning of his wrestling career things weren't quite as perfect.

Dress sense was arguably the most questionably thing about the people's champion but this week Cristiano Ronaldo still decided to pay homage to one of The Rock's most famous looks.

And the 45-year-old had the perfect response to exactly who wore it better:

It's the latest development in what's proven to be an eventful year for Johnson, as fans remain optimistic that he might end up running for president in the next election.

After Donald Trump became POTUS, the whole planet knew that pretty much anything was possible.

In today's mind-boggling world, it seems anything goes - so why wouldn't the professional wrestler, actor and seemingly all-round nice guy find himself in the running to take over 'The Donald' in a few years?

In the above clip, Ellen DeGeneres asks Kevin Hart what he'd think if The Rock ran for president - and his answer was surprisingly sincere.

"I'll give you a serious answer - you know, I give you crap all the time but this is daytime TV... so I'll keep my real opinion between us," he jokes.

"I think the world that we're living in today, you're seeing the real effect that genuine people like Dwayne have, and the one thing about him is that he's very serious when it comes to spreading that love, the laughter and just the upselling of life on a positive level.

"If he were to put himself in that position he would get my support, wholeheartedly. Unless it comes to my financial dollar, then we'd have to talk."

Ellen then turns to The Rock and asks if he really would run.

He replies: "I'm seriously considering it, yes."

This came just days after The Rock there was just thing potentially in the way of him standing for election: his pal, Kevin, who he stars alongside in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.

"Here's the problem, it's been very flattering," The Rock admitted. "There's been this really interesting uptick in public opinion, [people] wanting that to happen.

"The problem is that [Kevin Hart] will completely sabotage the campaign in 2020, 2024. He'll literally sabotage it from the inside."

"A hundred percent," fellow guest Kevin agreed. "I will take you down. I don't want it to happen because it will make you that much better than me, and I just don't want it. I would sabotage it in a heartbeat."

It's also not the first time The Rock has thrown the idea around, telling GQ earlier this year that he was considering it. But the fact that he seems to genuinely be giving it some 'serious' consideration is an interesting development.

Like we said, anything goes. If Trump can do it - and let's not forget that Arnold Schwarzenegger was governor of California - then surely The Rock's got a good chance?
