Did The Rock Take Tips From Nacho Libre?

Did The Rock Take Tips From Nacho Libre?

Looks like it.

Dwayne Johnson is known for many things. Taking boots to asses, delivering unbelievable films, and never taking himself too seriously.

Across his filmography, he has now and again broken the fourth wall somewhat, incorporating his signature wrestling move, The Rock Bottom, into fight scenes.

In films like Walking Tall, Welcome to the Jungle and Fast and Furious, the move is performed and then there's that really corny shot of The Rock's face as he revels in his superiority.

What you wouldn't expect from him, however, is to steal a move from Jack Black. Or more specifically, from Jack Black's film, Nacho Libre.

People have noticed that a move that Nacho used in the 2006 movie was recreated by The Rock in a match against John Cena at WrestleMania 28.

Truth be told it's an actual move in wrestling - an inverted small package - and not just created for Nacho Libre.

Saying that, 96 percent of people who watch WWE these days aren't actually wrestling fans, and 100 percent of people who have seen Nacho Libre aren't either, so you can forgive them for not putting two and two together.

However, given that The Rock is who he is, you wouldn't associate him with under par films about a Mexican wrestler.

He's loved for many different reasons in the WWE, but is respected for the work he's put in.

After failing to make a career in pro football, and then committing petty crimes and being broke, he turned to the wrestling business, something his family had been a major part of for years.

It goes way back, and starts with Amituana Anoa'i and Peter Maivia, who became blood brothers and began the Anoa'i wrestling family.

Maivia married Lia Maivia, a wrestling promoter, and together they had two children, one of which was daughter Ata Maivia. Ata married Rocky Johnson, and together they gave birth to Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.

The Maivia clan are one of the few families that can boast having three generations of superstars, similar to the Orton family.

Elsewhere in the family, popular names like Solofa Fatu Jr. (Rikishi), Eddie Fatu (Umaga/Jamal), Matthew Anoa'i (Rosey), Rodney Anoa'i (Yokozuna), Jonathan Solofa Fatu (Jimmy Uso) and Joshua Samuel Fatu (Jey Uso) pop up, the majority of which are The Rock's family.

All have competed in WWE, as well as other promotions, always proudly representing their country of Samoa.

But anyway, who fancies seeing Dwayne Johnson take a page out of Scotty 2 Hotty's book and perform the worm at his next wrestling appearance? I'm up for that.
