Twenty years after Kurt Angle stepped onto the WWE stage, the wrestler has officially bid farewell to his fans at WrestleMania 35.

The wrestling legend faced off against Baron Corbin in stunning style but sadly he wasn't able to walk away with the title.

He arrived into Met Life Stadium with 80,000 fans screaming his name.

Angle appeared to be on the back foot as soon as the bell rang, with Corbin flinging him all over the ring.

The two time Olympic gold medal winner had moments of glory, showing everyone why he's such a house hold name.

But eventually Corbin got him with the 1, 2 and 3.

The shock result left many people in the stadium struggling to hold back tears, devastated their hero is gone and angry that he didn't win his farewell match.

But Angle won't be saying farewell to the WWE, telling SkySports: "I signed a contract to help the younger talent behind the scenes. I will be on the road with the guys that make it up here. I'll probably be an on-camera talent like a manager or maybe a general manager again. I'm sure they will want to utilize me on camera."
