It's been just over a week since Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor finally went at it in the boxing ring and the wheels are already set in motion for McGregor's return for the octagon.

The rivalry between Stockton fighter Nate Diaz and the Irishman was temporarily put on hold while the latter had one hell of a pay day in Las Vegas, but they've seemingly picked up where they let off.

The pair originally met at UFC 196, also in Vegas, where Diaz defeated McGregor in the second round via submission. They met yet again at UFC 202, where the bout went the distance, McGregor winning by unanimous decision.

The Notorious then dropped from welterweight to featherweight, taking Eddie Alvarez's title, and setting his sights on Mayweather.

Diaz has fired shots at the Irish fighter, commenting on a post by UFC on Instagram.

UFC posted a pensive image of Conor with the quote "I never lose, either I win or I learn."

Diaz, being the straight talking guy that he is, saw some bullshit in this and gave his thoughts, writing: "He punched himself out the same way he lost in the UFC there was no learning goin on.. [sic].

"#overpromotion bullshit get off the nuts this the shit I'm talking about Bruce Lee would've never lost like that. #realninjashit [sic]."

McGregor has already gotten the ball rolling between him and Nate with comments after the fight.

"I faced him at 170lbs, he beat me. I rematched him at 170lbs, I beat him. Now I'm the 155lbs champion, now if he wants that fight, he must come down - that's a fair trade," he said of his rival.

"I didn't ask for the rematch at a lower weight. I asked for it at the exact same weight. I thought that was a fair play move on my behalf and I came in and I won.

"So now I won the 155lb title after that, so if he wants the fight he has to make the 155lb limit."

The Irishman's agent, Audie Attar, then confirmed to MMAJunkie that Conor wants the third fight.

"He wants that triology," Attar said, before confirming all the other options on the table.

Word has obviously reached the Diaz team, and they've replied accordingly, saying they want at least $20million for the bout.

Knowing that McGregor's wallet is bigger than his ego, and the fact that this Saturday's boxing match was a ridiculous multi-million deal, they're not going to stand for chump change.

"[We want] at least $20 million, $30 million," Richard Perez, the Stockton fighter's coach, told Submission Radio. "Come on. UFC's making a whole lot of money.

"They're giving more to McGregor, so it's not fair because it takes two in that ring to draw a crowd."
