As we're now less than a week away from the biggest event in combat sport history, you can expect a hell of a lot more promotion and talking to be done in a short amount of time.

Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather have both done all their shit-chatting over the last six weeks or so, and for the next week it's probable that they'll be preparing mentally to meet in the ring. However, those outside of their circles will continue to talk.

One man who has recently commented on the matter, is Nate Diaz. The Stockton born fighter has had a fierce rivalry with McGregor in the UFC, with two fights resulting in a win for each of them, though he's jumped to the defense of the Irishman.

The UFC man isn't best pleased by boxers, both past and present, writing off The Notorious this early, with most saying that an MMA background won't help him between the ropes.

"And now all the boxers are criticising Conor, like, 'Conor's going to embarrass himself', but that's a real arrogant thing to say," Nate said, via TMZ Sports.

"And they say Conor's a dumbass for being down to take part in a boxing match - wanna know what's more embarrassing? If Floyd fought Conor in an MMA match, it'd be more embarrassing than Conor fighting Floyd in a boxing match.

"[Floyd] would get mounted and laughed at, and slapped around [and Conor] would smile at the crowd and wave."

Diaz alludes to the fact that people think the fight between 'Money' and The Notorious should be done over two sports, which many would want to see. Despite this, it's highly unlikely to happen.

He then went on to talk about McGregor's sparring partner, Paul Malignaggi, who had quite a few things to say about the Dubliner.

"Conor should beat that [Malignaggi's] ass," he said. "That guy was on the internet talking shit on him the other day."

He went on: "I'm like, 'What kind of sparring partners you got?' I'd shove that guy in the gym and beat his ass if I was Conor, like, 'what you're going to put me on blast about what? You don't know shit.

"What gave you the right to talk shit, criticise if we're working together when I could beat your ass for real?' Don't even speak. That's my thoughts."

Well, we'll find out exactly what'll happen between the two on Saturday, when they finally meet with the gloves on in Las Vegas.
