New Details Emerge From Brock Lesnar And Randy Orton Bloodbath

Whether in the shoot fight world of UFC or the scripted WWE Universe, if you see your name written opposite Brock Lesnar's, chances are you'll be wanting a new pair of trunks. So spare a thought for Randy Orton, whose controversial TKO defeat to Lesnar at last week's SummerSlam event has been the subject of feverish debate ever since.

'The Viper', a 12 time World Champion, was left with blood pouring from his head after Lesnar decided it'd be a laugh to perform his own re-enactment of 'The Mountain vs The Viper' from Game of Thrones, and cave Orton's skull in, in front of a stunned audience.

No one seemed to know whether the finish was what the WWE had planned or whether the former UFC and WWE champion had gone 'off script'. Even some of the wrestlers backstage were concerned by the conclusion of the main event, leading to Chris Jericho confronting Lesnar after the show, which lead to a pull apart brawl between the two.

However, it appears that the finish was designed to trick everyone into fooling precisely that. Vince McMahon wanted to blur the lines between fantasy and reality, although I imagine Randy Orton wasn't too thrilled to learn that his first PPV match in almost a year was going to end with a 280 pound bloke with a temper shorter than Steve Austin's hair driving his anvil sized elbows into his forehead.

Orton's knowledge of the finish was very different in the days leading up to the match, though. According to NODQ.com, it was only when he arrived at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, last Sunday, that he discovered he wasn't to be taking part in a regular, back and forth main event, but rather something more closely resembling what would happen if you spilled Zangief off Street Fighter's pint.

Orton was informed that Lesnar knew how to 'graze' his forehead with an elbow without inflicting too much pain in the process. We'll let you be the judges of how painless the process was, though...

The confusion caused by this did lead the match official to legitimately stop the fight due to the excessive amount of blood and Orton's condition.

I hope Randy received a large bonus to go alongside the 10 staples he needed in his dome, following the match.
