Ross Kemp Reacted Hilariously To Last Night's England World Cup Match

The former 'EastEnders' star seemed to be gripped with the same patriotic excitement that has taken hold of everybody else in the country

After last night's penalty shootout victory over Colombia at the World Cup in Russia, England's football fans have a new hero.

No, I'm not talking about Jordan Pickford, although the Everton goalkeeper did OK. I am, of course, talking about Ross Kemp.

Yes, that's right, Ross Kemp. The actor and writer is best known these days for running away from gang members and going into places that you'd probably rather avoid, but last night he was all aboard the Three Lions' hype-train.

In fact, the former EastEnders man has been tweeting his way through the whole of the World Cup finals, but last night he seemed to be gripped with exactly the same patriotic excitement that has naturally taken hold of everybody else in the country.

To be fair, he might actually be the sort of hero that England's football fans can get behind.

Ross was getting excited before the game even kicked off. He posted a terrifying selfie of himself, shirtless and screaming:

The real question here is; why is he shirtless? Seriously. We're enjoying a long period of good weather here in the UK right now, but bloody hell.

He then followed that tweet up with another one that - mercifully - didn't have a picture attached to it:

More strong words, there.

It turned out that he was right, though. England prevailed after a tense penalty shootout and progressed to a quarter final match against Sweden this Saturday. Ross was (understandably) made up with this result.

This time, he posted a video. Whilst obviously trying (and failing) to control his emotions, he shouted: "You will never know what that means to me. That is everything, EVERYTHING. We love you, boys. We [Kemp restrained himself from saying a naughty word] love you."

Well, as long as he's happy. Presumably he'll be fit for taking away if they make it past Sweden. If England make it to the final we can probably start being legitimately concerned for his safety.

He'll explode with sheer pride.
