WWE Release Statement On Shane McMahon's Injuries After Hell In A Cell

Following from Shane McMahon's death-defying leap from the top of the Hell in a Cell (again) WWE have released a statement regarding his injuries.

Shane O'Mac took on Kevin Owens in the demonic structure, which he faced The Undertaker in at Wrestlemania 32, yet again stealing the show.

Away from being the boss' son, he's made a name for himself in the ring by pushing boundaries with his leap of faiths, jumping from Titantrons and cages, and this was no different as he attempted a elbow drop on K.O as he lay on an announcers table.

As his opponent moved there was only the table to break his fall, as there was apparently no padding in place.

He was stretchered out of the arena, such is the norm in these situations, but was then reportedly rushed to hospital.

In an update from WWE.com, a statement said: "SmackDown LIVE Commissioner Shane McMahon has been taken to a local medical facility after leaping from the top of Hell in a Cell and crashing through an announce table during his brutal Falls Count Anywhere Hell in a Cell Match against Kevin Owens.

"A preliminary report has determined that Shane may be dealing with multiple injuries, including neck trauma, fractured ribs and a dislocated shoulder.

"While nothing has been confirmed at this time, WWE.com will continue to monitor Shane's condition."

It's possible this could be part of the storyline, but given the fall it could very well be real.

This will now join a long list (which Shane is already on) of superstars taking the quick route from the cage roof to the floor.

Shawn Michaels was the first, followed by Mick Foley, who went on to fall off and through it about four times. Then followed the likes of Rikishi, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Sasha Banks in the first ever cell match that had Divas inside.

WWE often gets a lot of flak for being 'fake', though 'scripted' is probably a better description. Everyone knows that there's no real rivalry between the two men fighting, and that the majority of things have been done so they don't hurt as much and they're predetermined, but still, throwing yourself from 20 odd feet in the air isn't going to tickle, is it?
