WWE Star Paige Opens Up About Mental Health After Sex Tape Leak

Former WWE superstar Paige has opened up about the negative effects a leaked sex tape had on her mental health.

The former wrestler, who is actually called Saraya-Jade Bevis, said the leak of private and intimate footage in 2017 led her to undergo therapy and suffer from 'stress-induced anorexia'.

During the aftermath of the much-publicised leak she also suffered from depression and was forced to take time off work.

Now, in an interview with Fox News, the 27-year-old - who has since been forced to stop wrestling as a result of injuries - said it has been 'hard to stay positive' throughout her ordeal, and that the whole experience was 'so publicly humiliating'.

She said: "I did suffer a lot. I did. Just emotionally because at the time I was having my neck surgery too, and I had stress-induced anorexia.

"I lost all my hair. I had some really horrible thoughts. I had to go to therapy. It took me a while to get over because obviously, no woman wants to go through that."

Now that she is out the other side of this adversity, Paige went on to say she wants 'to help others' and added that she recently took the opportunity to tell her story to a group of children while visiting a women's hostel.

She continued: "I'm just like: 'Hey, like never do something when it comes to your phones.' Because like this is a different world nowadays.

"So now I get to use it and utilise it on a different platform and help others with it."

In short, she described the whole situation as 'a horrible thing' to have happened to her. Regardless, she hopes that she can now use it as a 'tool to help the next generation of people'.

Back in February, she spoke about how inspired she was after a meeting with a young fan. She said that the young girl helped her out after a chance meeting in a supermarket whilst she was at 'rock bottom'.

She told the New York Post: "Of course, she didn't have the internet and thought I was the most beautiful and most successful woman in the world.

"It opened my eyes to so many things. I was like, 'I'm gonna let videos get in the way of things?'"

A film was released called Fighting With My Family earlier this year, which tells the story of Paige's upbringing in Norwich and her rise to success in the world of pro wrestling.
