The summer sale for Steam is expected to start today thanks to a tweet from an outside party sharing the information.

Twitter user SteamDB (database), who 'are not affiliated with Valve in any way', claim they 'occasionally make the pipes leak'. I wonder what that could mean.

Their tweet stated that the sale is set begin 24 hours, which would mean today and it should be starting very soon.

We're sure this is welcome news but it might not so exciting for your bank account, and it will be interesting to see if their new feature, which allows you to see how much you've ever spent on Steam, will make you think twice about those unnecessary purchases.

The leak seems credible as it would follow suit to what Steam have done over the past couple of years, with 2016's sale beginning on the 23rd and last year's being the 22nd.

The Twitter account also shared an image of the 'mysterious cards' that are available on the website, which they believed also indicated the sale was due to start any time.

This happens every year in the build up to the event so we reckon this information is legit. Get ready for what's reported to be the biggest sale so far!

It's easy to get sucked into buying loads of games during Steam's yearly occasion, some of which you won't even play, as the price looks too good to pass up. Make sure you go in with some sort of plan for what you're after or even limit yourself to what you want to spend, which we bet won't happen and you'll end up breaking the bank on random crap - like us.
