Employee on world’s largest cruise ship leaves viewers baffled after ‘stress testing’ everything before guests arrive

TikToker Erica works on the world's largest cruise ship, which is said to be five times larger than the Titanic.

An employee on the world's largest cruise ship might just have the best job in the world after baffling viewers with 'stress testing' everything prior to guests' arrival.

US TikToker Erica is making us feel very jealous on this cold Monday morning as she has been uploading her stay on Royal Caribbean’s new 365m-long (1,197ft) cruise ship.

The 20 decker ship is said to be five times bigger than the Titanic, costing a whopping $2 billion (£1.6 billion) to build.

With tickets ranging from $1,723 to $2,639 per person, the ship has more than 40 restaurants, bars and lounges.

Taking to TikTok is cruise ship employee Erica, who has been documenting what it's been like to work on the world's largest ship.

Erica reflected: "To see the transformation of the ship and its final stages, there's a lot of construction happening, lots of artwork being installed, a lot of testing being done.

"And it's just so awesome to see how the ship transforms every single day."

The TikToker says the 'coolest things' she's seen include The Pearl - a huge spherical structure on the ship's main promenade - which she calls 'ridiculous' and 'magical'.

Chief Product Innovation Officer for Royal Caribbean International Jay Schneider said: "It's a bit art, a bit sculpture, a bit experience, a bit WOW."

The Pearl is one of the highlights of the ship.

Before the ship's first commercial voyage on 27 January, Erica shared a video with her 650k followers, as she showed us what it's like to 'stress test' everything on the ship.

Trust me, there's nothing stressful about it.

Her job is to test out all the facilities and to stay in one of the most expensive suites on the cruise.

"So they gave your girl a suite to test out because like I said, there are no guests on board and I have a corner Sunset Suite.

"I am so extremely grateful and humble."

In the video, she tested out the suite, the Starbucks, the restaurants and also the cocktails.

Viewers were baffled by the video, as one person commented: "How do I get THAT job??"

A second added: "Lost me at Starbucks."

"Stress test? Do they actually call it that?" another questioned.

While someone else asked: "How can you apply to work on the ship please."

Colleen McDaniel, editor-in-chief of Cruise Critic, told CNN Travel: “Thinking about all that’s changed in cruise – and travel – in the past 10 years, there are so many new concepts and options to be excited about onboard.”
