Giovanna Fletcher has been crowned Queen of the Castle - the first person to win the title after I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! moved from Australia to Wales due to the pandemic.

Tonight's final saw children's author and podcaster Giovanna Fletcher, Radio One DJ Jordan North and TV presenter Vernon Kay battle it out to take home the coveted crown, with EastEnders actor Shane Richie voted out in the penultimate episode.

Ahead of the last episode, Oddschecker had Fletcher tipped to win at 4/5, with North the second at 7/4, and Kay third with odds of 9/1.

The series has been forced to make various changes this year, including its relocation to a Welsh landmark, Gwrych Castle in Abergele.

Campmates have still been able to get up close with plenty of exotic animals and creepy crawlies, but this time it's from the comfort of a freezing cold 200-year-old medieval castle - which some claim is haunted.

As well as the location, this year the series had been cut short by two days, ending on a Friday rather than a Sunday, as is usually the case.

ITV hasn't confirmed the reasoning behind the change, but it sees the length of the series cut from 22 days to 20.

However, according to Radio Times, the new format has been a huge hit with fans - who apparently prefer the castle set-up to the traditional Aussie jungle.

In a poll, the outlet asked 2,000 viewers which they liked more, with 64 percent saying they thought I'm A Celeb was better in the castle, compared to 36 percent who opted for the jungle.

"When asked whether the ITV show should shake up the location every year, 47 per cent of voters opted for the series to be based in the UK permanently, while 28 per cent said it should stick to the jungle and 26 per cent wanted a new location every series," Radio Times said.

It seems this year's show has been a smash with fans, with many taking to Twitter to say they don't want it to draw to a close.

One person wrote: "Genuinely don't care who wins #ImACeleb tonight! I've loved them all this year and so sad it's coming to an end."

Someone else said: "I actually feel so sad #ImACelebrity is ending. Kinda feel empty. Just gotta say, hats off @ITV and the entire team of @imacelebrity for putting on such a stellar show during a pandemic. Y'all have brought smiles on our faces & brought a sense of normalcy."

A third added: "It has been such a good series. Cant believe it is going to be over tonight. So sad. It has been so good at #GwrychCastle."
