All of the rumoured I'm A Celebrity contestants entering the Australian jungle

All of the rumoured I'm A Celebrity contestants entering the Australian jungle

The ITV show returns in less than two weeks

With Big Brother and Married at First Sight both coming to an end next week, reality show fans are probably itching to fill the gap already.

And as most will know, this time of year is usually when a bunch of celebrities head to a jungle in Australia to eat animal anuses and jump out of helicopters.

Yep, it’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! time.

This year’s ITV series is set to kick off next Sunday (19 October), with the other major reality shows wrapping up next week.

While the line-up of celebrities is yet to be announced, the rumours have been spinning with the first speculated star arriving down under yesterday (6 November).

We’ve put together a list of all the rumoured celebs for this year, including a politician, a boyband star, a drag queen and a TV presenter. Standard.

Frankie Dettori

The former Italian jockey landed in Melbourne recently for the Melbourne Cup and has been tipped to be heading to Brisbane afterwards for the show.

A source previously told The Sun: “He might be pint-sized, but his personality is larger than life and he has real charm and a sense of humour.

“Frankie would be brilliant in the Bushtucker Trials too as being competitive is second nature to him.”

Alan Halsall

I mean, will we ever have a I’m A Celeb series without a soap star? Halsall has played Tyrone Dobbs in Coronation Street since 1998 and could be the next actor to take on the jungle.

A source told The Sun: “Alan is a top lad with bags of personality so ITV are over the moon he’s in talks to join their 2023 cast.”

Nigel Farage

Farage said he was 'considering' it.

Ugh, I know. But the controversial politician has previously said himself he was giving an offer to join the line-up ‘very serious consideration’.

The former Brexit Party leader had previously turned down the show, but on his GB News show last week (30 October) said he’s been offered ‘substantial’ pay to appear on the show ‘several times’ since 2016.

He said he was reconsidering it as an opportunity to connect with ‘about 10 million young people who watch’ I’m A Celeb.

Denise Van Outen

You’d be forgiven for thinking the presenter had actually appeared on the show already - but she hasn't.

Van Outen turns 50 next year and with apparent past offers to join, she told The Sun: “I will do it at some point. I think I’m a Celebrity for my 50th birthday would be something nice to do.”

Danny Cipriani

The former England rugby star, who was previously convicted for drunk-driving and also arrested for alleged common assault, could be following in the footsteps of Mike Tindall.

Cipriani’s participation in this year’s signings was billed ‘one of the most exciting’ by a source who ‘confirmed’ it to the Daily Mail.

Sam Thompson

The Made in Chelsea star is heavily rumoured to take on the jungle this year, not long after his girlfriend, Zara McDermott, was kicked off Strictly Come Dancing.

A source told The Sun: “Sam is a great signing because he has a huge fan base and a funny, self-deprecating personality.”

Josie Gibson

An ITV favourite, Gibson’s presence on This Morning has arguably grown over the year, especially following the Phillip Schofield scandal.

The Independent say producers are apparently ‘determined’ to sign the Big Brother winner for I’m A Celeb.

Liz Truss

I know, I can’t believe this one either. It is a bit of an unlikely one.

Following Matt Hancock’s long run on the show last year, it seems the fellow Tory is wanted for the show.

But Truss’ press secretary clarified in the summer: “Liz has not been approached about appearing on the next series of I’m a Celeb. Even if she were approached, the answer would be a firm no.”

Marvin Humes

The JLS singer is a regular on our TV screens, occasionally joining his wife, Rochelle, to host ITV’s This Morning as well as their BBC gameshow The Hit List.

A ‘jungle source’ told The Sun: “Not only is he known to fans of The X Factor and fans of JLS, but the audience for The Hit List and This Morning spans from kids right through older viewers.

“And with Rochelle’s backing, he’s got a ready-made fan base… bosses hope he’ll make use of the jungle shower.”

Boris Johnson

Although it could also be a bit too soon for Johnson to take on I’m A Celeb, his dad Stanley did have a go back in 2017.

But while a politician does usually take part - and the former Prime Minister was reportedly offered a place - a source told the Mirror: “He’s not looking likely.

“The truth is he doesn’t need the cash as much as he did before, thanks to his income from speeches and, of course, he still thinks he’s going to stage some sort of political comeback at some stage.”

Olivia Attwood

The Love Island star was very sad to have left the jungle early.

The Love Island star ended up having to leave last year’s camp after only one day when it was found she was dangerously anaemic.

Back then, Attwood said she’s ‘love to’ come back to take part in I’m A Celeb but there could be some logistical issues.

One of the biggest stars from RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, The Vivienne is already a bit of a TV favourite having previously taken part in Dancing on Ice and making appearances on Big Brother – both on ITV.

She’s said she’s interested too and, per The Independent, said: “I’ve never even thought about it really but what an absolutely amazing opportunity that would be.

“I’m petrified of spiders but get me to that jungle, I’d do it!”

Alex Beresford

You might remember this weather presenter best for his brilliant live clash with Piers Morgan over his Meghan Markle comments back in 2021, on Good Morning Britain.

And it seems he’s keen to get on I’m A Celeb, telling the Mirror: “Out of all the shows, I would love to do the jungle.”

Grace Dent

She previously said she's embarrassed to watch.

Despite the food critic and Masterchef star previously revealing she’s embarrassed to watch the ITV show, saying she snaps her ‘blinds firmly shut’, The Sun report she’s rumoured to have signed a deal.

A source said: “Masterchef fans know Grace for her withering put-downs of contestants’ food and disdain for anything less than stellar cooking.

“But she’ll be eating humble pie in the jungle, surviving on rice and beans and taking part in Bushtucker trials.”

Tristan Phipps

Although Thompson is already rumoured, it seems another Made in Chelsea star has ‘hinted’ he could be taking part in I’m A Celeb.

Phipps recently split from girlfriend, Olivia Bentley, and told his Instagram followers he’s gone to Australia for a solo trip.

He said on his story: “I'd love some recommendations for some naturey things, outdoor things, adventure things to do around Sydney area, not necessarily in Sydney, but something that is a little bit different.”
