A 'lost' episode of Only Fools and Horses from 1984 has been found and scenes from it will be shown on TV for the first ever time. Lovely jubbly.

The episode, called 'Licensed to Drill', is said to have been found on a dusty shelf, and was the last one to star Lennard Pearce as Grandad before he died in 1984.

In the episode, Del Boy buys an oil rig for £400, hoping to make a couple of million.

Del, played by David Jason, proudly tells Grandad and younger brother Rodney: "We just lay low in our boat for a while and we wait for one of the big oil companies to move off the oil field, and then we whip in a bit lively and use their hole."

Sadly, it's not long before Del realises Peckham isn't oil-rich and that he's been conned.

'Licensed to Drill' was produced by the Maureen Oilfield Consortium and was exclusively made for British schools, to teach pupils about crude oil and the things that can be mass-produced from it.

It's exciting news for fans of the show - which, let's face it, is pretty much everyone in the UK.

Del Boy and Rodney were responsible for some of the funniest sitcom moments ever, and most of us probably grew up watching reruns of the long-running show, so the fact there's an unseen one out there is the creme de la menthe, as Del would say.

Scenes from the episode will be shown on UKTV Gold's The Story Of Only Fools And Horses on 3 October. The series, which is on Tuesdays at 8pm, also features bloopers and interviews with the cast.
