‘Peaky Blinders’ Creator Reckons Next Episode Will Be The Best In The Series

‘Peaky Blinders’ Creator Reckons Next Episode Will Be The Best In The Series

There have been nearly two dozen episodes of the BBC drama so far - and this one could be the cream of the crop...

The award for the 'Best Episode' of a TV series is likely to be a contentious one, as fans (which sometimes number in their tens of millions) will be divided on what is considered the best of the best.

It's hard to pick out one that everyone can agree on, especially when a show has plenty of episodes to choose from.

According to IMDB, the first instalment of the fourth season of Peaky Blinders, 'The Noose' is the cream of the crop. After more than 2,260 votes, that episode has a pretty impressive rating of 9.8 out of 10, with more than four-fifths of pundits giving it a perfect 10.

Not only was it the first chapter of a new season, but it was fraught with so much tension and added new characters into the mix (Luca Changretta/Adrien Brody). However, 'The Noose' could soon be dethroned from the top spot with tomorrow night's episode 'The Duel'. If we're going by names alone, this one sounds juicy.

Series creator and writer Steven Knight has told LADbible what he thought are the best episodes and he gave particular weight to the upcoming instalment.

"I think ['The Noose'] and the first episode of the series [are brilliant]," Knight told us. "The sixth episode of season two, and I think episode five of series four will be one of the best, ever."

According to IMDB, 'The Duel' will be about: "Tommy prepares himself as the bloody battle lines are drawn between the Peaky Blinders and Changretta. A deal is struck - with potentially devastating consequences."

Judging from the photos of the episode, it looks like Brody/Changretta will finally be getting his hands dirty after a very long build-up of threats and promises of blood.

The trailer for the episode also shows Alfie Solomons (Tom Hardy) meeting Changretta in a dodgy location. Could this be his attempt at gaining an ally to thwart the Blinders, or could he be secretly getting some intel on the mobster's movements?

Fans will also be keen to see how details of last week's episode play out, after Polly (Helen McCrory) wanted to ensure Mr Shelby (Cillian Murphy) had his schedule for Friday cleared and etched an ominous black star in his diary.

Her insistence on the matter made some viewers wary of her intentions - she's either throwing a huge surprise party for Blinders gang leader (yay), or there could be something more sinister waiting (boo).

The twists and turns of each episode are the work of Steven Knight, who tells us that sometimes the script writes itself: "The characters we've already got I let them speak for themselves and when I write, I try and imagine how they'd react and what they'd say to each other."

No one knows exactly what will happen tomorrow night, but the only thing that's certain is that it's meant to be fucking epic.
