Rich Instagrammer Discovers That Not Everyone Is Loaded

Rich Instagrammer Discovers That Not Everyone Is Loaded

New Channel Five show pits rich kid who spends £10k on herself every month against an everyday family from Manchester

An Iranian heiress who swapped her lavish lifestyle to live with a working-class Manchester family has, unsurprisingly, discovered that she has it pretty good.

Sepii, 22, is a medical student and Instagrammer who lives rent-free in central London, dining out on her parent's dollar, driving a Range Rover and spending upwards of £10,000 on herself per month. She agreed to live with the Hussain family of Manchester as part of the Channel Five show Rich Kids Turn Skint, a sort of Wife Swap for 21st-century wealth inequality.

"I don't get an allowance, but if I need money (from my parents) I'll just ask for it," Sepii told the Sun of her lifestyle.

"I don't work currently. I do fashion blogging on Instagram and I have a YouTube channel. I used to work as a tutor but I had to stop that because I'm a medical student.

"My shoes are bags are probably worth upwards of £10,000. My favourite shoe brand would be Christian Louboutin. My favourite bags are Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Valentino, they're good investments because they last you a lifetime.

"I get my nails done, shellac, every couple of weeks. I get lash extensions, get my hair blow dried.

"I don't know how much I spend on it but I do know it's something which is a luxury I'm able to have. I get my nails done really frequently - and skin treatments every couple of weeks. I do get tables in clubs with my friends. They can cost anywhere from £1,000 upwards."

Fans of conflict TV à la Wife Swap will be disappointed to learn that everyone got along fine - although Sepii's opulent lifestyle was, of course, difficult to keep up while living with the Hussains. Wouldn't have much of a TV show otherwise, would we?

"Their food shop for a week was £50 - that was quite surprising to hear," said Sepii of a food budget not remotely surprising to anyone watching.

"For their whole family to live off for the week, that wouldn't even get me through a couple of uni days. I've definitely spent more than £50 on one dinner."

She added: "Their son was given an allowance of £5 a day for school, I think that was his lunch money and travel money. It was definitely eye-opening because £5 for me wouldn't even cover my coffee in a day.

"You go to Pret and you get a salad and a drink and a snack, so even lunch alone is probably £12 or £15."

Quite what you could spend £15 on in Pret still baffles me. It's only a few quid for a butty, isn't it? Am I doing it wrong? Do they sell booze now?

Still, the fact she'll return to a life of luxury - and extravagant sandwich shopping - doesn't appear to have completely gone over Sepii's head, as she commented: "It actually changed me afterwards, it gave me something to reflect on after filming the show.

"When I would see homeless people after the show I would actually sit down with them and hear their story.

"There was a homeless guy where every day on the way to work I would bring him his tea with milk and three sugars the way he likes it. It gives you an insight."

And her greatest insight into the lives of everyday folk like you and me is a lesson you wouldn't have thought anyone would need to learn.

"That was my first time sleeping on a sofa. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be - I thought it would be really uncomfortable or that I would fall off," she added.

Never slept on a sofa?!? Need more practice coming home and sticking the telly on after a night on the sesh, mate. It's dead easy.
