Stormzy has won the album of the year gong at this year's BRIT awards.

His album Gang Signs and Prayer won the Mastercard British Album of the year - making it the first grime album to pick up the coveted award.

Accepting his award, he said: "All the glory to God, this is all you. I know a lot of people... it seems like a strange thing, but this is all him... the Merky team... my mum, my whole family. Come on!!!

"Trust me. We done it. Also 'Gang Signs and Prayer', this was the hardest, I never worked on something like this in my whole life... we made something that I feel like is undeniable."

He then went on to perform live, and while it's fair to say not all performance went down well with the audience tonight, Stormzy absolutely smashed it and Twitter loved it:

He also picked up the award for 'British Male Solo Artist', so not a bad night then. Congrats, mate.
