There's a lot to think about when it comes to surprise proposals - I mean, I'm no expert but it seems like a pretty stressful thing to be getting yourself into.

Is the venue right, should you do it around people or in private, will your partner have a decent looking left hand?

Anyone on social media in this day and age will know that what comes with an engagement is the gloating ring picture - not to sound envious by any stretch of the imagination, btw.

But ask yourself this - would that person post the same picture if they were sporting some unpolished, dry, crusty digits? Nope is the answer.

And this new bride-to-be, called Diana, found her self smack bang in the middle of that exact predicament.

So what did she do? Looked around the room for the most eligible hand, shoved her brand new engagement ring on it and had had us all fooled.

On Twitter, Diana's cousin shared the pictures for us all to see writing: "My cousin's boyfriend proposed to her but she didn't have her nails done lmao".

She later added that Diana is a nurse so never has her nails done and, as this was a surprise, her new fiancé didn't want to raise suspicion by telling her to go and get a manicure.

In fact, it would seem that Diana's partner José had everything figured out - literally. He told Diana that the celebration was for his parent's wedding anniversary so she organised the entire thing.

Good job she likes her in-laws, isn't it?

The tweet, which was originally posted on November 2, has since received 785,000 likes and 190,000 retweets with people loving the stunt.

One person said: "Gotta have good girlfriends around at all times best gift you give yourself is having friends that got your back".

When someone tweeted their mate to figure out whether they would step in as hand model, their friend replied: "Omg duh that is the only reason I regularly get my nails done".

But someone didn't approve of the trick, saying: "There is nothing beautiful about this, why would she care about her fingers? Everything for social media now".

Yep, they're doing it for the 'gram.
