OPPA GANGNAM STYLE!

What a tune, eh? A phenomenon. The South Korean answer to 'Don't Stop Me Now'.

Back in 2012 it reached unprecedented levels when it broke free of the shackles of the Korean music charts, worming its way into the ears of new audiences all over the globe. Suddenly dancefloors everywhere became embroiled by idiotic dancing and DJs became flummoxed by multiple requests for 'that mad tune, mate!'

The video for the song went on to become the most viewed clip on YouTube, and held that crown for five years. Unfortunately, it's now been knocked off its perch.

The admirable figure of 2.894 billion views has been overtaken by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth's video for 'See You Again'.

Released as part of the Furious 7 soundtrack and used as a tribute to Paul Walker, the video now has 2.895 billion views, Mashable reports. Not bad.

The song was uploaded to YouTube in April 2015, amassing those views in just over two years.

However, you can expect its stay at the top to be a short one if Luis Fonsi's 'Despacito' carries on the way it is - it's certainly a potential new challenger.

The song, featuring Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber, has already racked up 2.483 billion views since January of this year, and is already the fifth most seen video on the site.

Fifth most viewed video on YouTube and one of the geezers who sings it struggles with the lyrics...

Maybe he didn't expect 'Despacito' to be as popular as it turned out to be...? That would explain why he didn't bother to learn it.

At Summerburst Festival in Stockholm, Sweden, Bieber told the crowd, who were screaming for the song, that he couldn't do it. Eventually, a presumably disgruntled punter aimed a bottle at him.

Anyway, congrats Wiz and Charlie on reaching the precipice of internet fame: taking the top spot on YouTube.
