Zac Efron Is Really Not Very Good At Internet Flirting

He may be handsome, rich, and famous, but his chat leaves a bit to be desired

Zac Efron might be rich, handsome, and in a load of films, but here's some good news - his chat up lines are still cheesy, lame, and - in certain cases - potentially insulting.

He has been posting some admittedly quite sweet messages to his 'is she/isn't she' girlfriend Alexandra Daddario but even though they're sweet, some of them are just bizarre.

Alexandra appeared in the film Baywatch alongside Zac last year and the two struck up a relationship that they haven't confirmed yet (but is definitely happening, if rumour is to be believed).

Zac decided to compliment one of her pictures on Instagram, which depicted her at home with her dog earlier this week, getting ready to attend the Rampage premiere.

He went with 'two hot bitches' - which is definitely why he gets paid to read words that someone else has written, rather than for writing his own.

Just to throw it out there - and of course, she may be fine with it - but it's generally advisable not to call women 'bitches', online or otherwise. It's the sort of thing people tend to get pretty bent out of shape about.

Needless to say, Alexandra has not responded to the comment.

This is not even half as cringeworthy as it gets, although elsewhere the cringe kicks in for different reasons.

Zac recently posted a nice picture of the two together with the caption: "Happy birthday to one of the the most real, down to earth, stunning, intelligent, creative, loving, and most rare Pokémon ever created #alexdaddario"

Rare Pokémon? Has he ever seen a Pokémon?

At least she replied to this one - thanking him for his wishes. However, this brings us on to Zac's fixation with emojis.

He posted a string of emojis that just make no sense, presumably even to teenagers.

So, what we've learned is that Zac likes childish humour, emojis, and Pokémon. This should make a lot of men feel a lot better about themselves.

Although we may never have the money, the movie star girlfriend, or the chiselled looks, we at least can manage to talk to a woman without mentioning a Japanese cartoon - sometimes.

For Alexandra's part, she is a bit better with her words when trying to explain her attraction to Zac (spoiler alert: it's not his wit and Pokémon knowledge).

Discussing a scene in Baywatch, she told Entertainment Tonight: "Early on, I had to do a scene where I had to flirt with him and touch his waist.

"It was sort of like I wasn't prepared. It was like an animalistic shock went through me.

"I don't know. He's, like, not human. He's like something Michelangelo carved. I've never seen a man that looks like him. It's incredible."

Fair enough - you could put up with the occasional insult for that.
