I may not now the first thing about Airsoft, but judging by the sheer content I've been skimming through on YouTube, I'm missing out on a lot.

This video, for example, works on many levels.

First of all, 'Don', who uploaded the video, employs a relaxed approach to an often taken-too-seriously activity.

Secondly, he casually has a conversation with the opposite team on their way to whip up a plate of stealth kills about pretty much doing the same thing.

Finally, he informs a rival player to "get ready to see a bunch of silent kills on YouTube." All this, and he still pulls it off, without any guns.

Airsoft is a military simulation sport that invites punters to participate in mock combat with authentic military-style weapons and tactics. Unlike paintball, airsoft is built around 6mm round BBs made of hard plastic.

Frist and Only Events writes on their site: "Most airsoft guns fire 6mm plastic pellets (or BBS) at relatively low speeds which are fast enough to feel, but slow enough not to cause serious injury. They can fire the BB's up to ranges of 150ft but are a lot less painful than a paintball when they hit you.

"Many weapons have both semi and full auto capability and often replicate their real world counterparts in look, feel, cycling action and sometimes weight. Airsoft guns look so much like the real thing they are legally classed as a realistic imitation firearm (RIF) by the government."

Airsoft allegedly originated in Japan in the early 1980s as an answer to the American 'craze' paintball.

While we're on the topic of replica weapons, let's throwback to Joerg Sprave making that terrifying version of a Nerf gun.

If you haven't heard of German YouTuber Joerg Sprave, he's basically a guy who manly-fies everyday objects into proper dangerous weapons. His past DIY efforts have been made from Coke bottles and mouse traps.

A while back he mutated a Nerf gun into a serious weapon.

The process is quite easy. He just sticks a razor-blade in the top of a Nerf bullet. But the damage it does is still crazy.

"Wow," Sprave beams, assessing the damage one bullet causes to a mannequin head. "All the way through."

If you're dangerous and irresponsible you can check out the rest of his videos here.
