Much has been said of Justin Bieber and his ability to pick up women; he's no Leonardo DiCaprio, but he obviously does well for himself. But just because he's a mega superstar with plenty of cash and good looks, it doesn't mean that he can bed any woman he chooses.

That was the crushing reality he had to face when he tried to find out the name of a woman who worked at a gym.

Fitness on Broughton posted this video on Instagram, saying: "New @bangenergy limited edition purple guava pear energy drinks are here! Trust us, when we say they're AMAZING! Get yours while they're still in stock!"

Clearly, the attractive blonde grabbed Bieber's attention and he wanted to know more about her, and probably less about the energy drinks. So, he did what anyone would do: send a cheeky DM to find out her name.

Unfortunately, it didn't really work and the message was left unanswered.

But the woman at the centre of the drama, Jessi, wasn't going to let it fade into the ether.

She wrote: "Did this actually just happen... lmao. Justin Bieber just messaged the gym that I work at and asked who I was hahahaha WTF."

Jessi followed the post up with a series of pictures with her boyfriend, saying: "I've got everything I need right here."

The post has been liked by nearly 60,000 people and retweeted by more than 10,000.

Savage, absolutely savage.

The Canadian pop star drew criticism recently for cancelling the rest of his Purpose world tour because he wanted his 'mind, heart and soul to be sustainable'.

In a post to Instagram, Bieber said: "Me taking this time right now is me saying I want to be SUSTAINABLE... so that I can be the man I want to be, the husband I eventually want to be, and the father I want to be."
