Not being American, the Super Bowl isn't all too big an event for me personally. But still, I'll tune in to watch the half-time theatrics, mostly in the hope it will all go wrong.
A couple of years ago, Justin Timberlake committed to a dance routine so hard that he ended up exposing Janet Jackson's nipple. That was a pretty big mess-up.
Given that the event is watched by millions upon millions of people globally, you'd have thought heavy preparation and solid execution would be a must.

After all, it's important to make sure the entertainment is so good that it draws in everybody and not just the performing artist's usual fans.
The way to get so many grown men to watch Katy Perry or Madonna is to bring it up to such a standard that they have to watch it.

This happened over the weekend with Lady Gaga. 117.5 million viewers tuned in to watch her half-time show, making her the second-highest rated Super Bowl performer of all time, coming behind Ms Perry by a mere 3 million.
But where were those 3 million people on Sunday? What were they doing?
It's all a bit removed from half-times in British football, where retired right-backs offer their two-pence on the first half for 15 minutes or so. A quarter of an hour in which, if you're anything like me, you'll end up sacking most of it off by having a cig or getting the pints in at the bar.
No, with the Super Bowl, it's different.

If you don't fancy watching it then even chain-smoking a 10 pack isn't going to kill the time. Hell, driving to a different city probably wouldn't.
So what do the stats show non-Gaga fans were doing this during this years half-time show? Well, apparently, watching a bit of porn.

Pornhub revealed their dips in traffic on Sunday, showing that it dropped by 27% compared to usual levels shortly after the game began. It peaked back again during Gaga's set.
It stayed low again for the rest of the game but then jumped to 9% more than usual after the final whistle.

The site also looked at the traffic from Massachusetts and Georgia - the home states of the Patriots and Falcons - and found a nose dive in traffic in Massachusetts towards the bitter end of the game, when the odds were in favour of the Patriots.
The funniest insight of all is the Super Bowl-related searches made during the game.

But the porn users weren't the only ones killing time during this year's Super Bowl half-time show.
