Bristol Rovers Broadcast Babestation To Fans In The Bar At Half-Time

Well, it's more exciting than Sky Sports News.

Football fans are a strange breed. We keep trekking out to games every week, despite the fact that the vast majority of us do it as a completely thankless task. It's often cold and wet, and the football - unless you are a Barcelona supporter from a few years back - is usually slow and boring.

That could probably have been said about last night's EFL Cup match between Bristol Rovers and Crawley Town, until the home side decided to liven things up a bit at half-time.

Bristol Rovers took the unusual step of screening soft-core erotica channel Babestation in the bar while every had their half-time pint.

Yes, fans of all ages were shown the adult TV channel Babestation while they grabbed a bit of respite from what I'm certain was an absorbing contest.

It's pretty much a given that you'd have Sky Sports News on, but variety is the spice of life, after all.

Anyway, it was shown for a decent while, or at least until someone working at the club realised what was happening and hurried to turn it off.

The club have since said that they reckon a naughty fan was using some sort of universal remote device to control the telly and have a bit of mischief.

The club were naturally pretty embarrassed afterwards, and issued a statement giving their version of events.

It read: "The club believes that someone that was attending in the bar was using a universal remote device to affect the TV output.

"The matter will be fully investigated; however, the club believes that they have photographic evidence of the individual concerned and they will be dealt with appropriately."

Strangely enough, this isn't the first incident like this in recent memory.

Back in 2017, Scottish football team Inverness Caledonian Thistle got egg on their face after their official Twitter account 'liked' a tweet from popular pornography site Pornhub.

Obviously, they swiftly backtracked, but this time there could be no 'universal remote' argument.

The Caley Jags then released a fairly stuffy statement that said: "The ICT board of directors are aware that on the evening of 27 July 2017, there was activity on the official club Twitter account which we deem to be entirely inappropriate and unacceptable.

"Procedures kicked in to remove the offending material and immediately lock down the account. ICT has notified the appropriate authorities and a formal investigation is underway.

"The ICT board of directors assure our staff and supporters that we will take all steps to identify the circumstances of this infringement and that steps will be taken to prevent recurrence."

So many questions. In fact, I'm not sure we need the answers.
