Lone England Fan Is Brave Or Daft As He Celebrates World Cup Win In Colombian Bar In Moscow

Brave, but possibly foolish.

Footage has emerged of a brave (or potentially daft) England fan who couldn't resist showing his true colours and celebrating last night's win, despite being surrounded by fans of England's opponents, Colombia.

Are you sick of hearing about England's win over Colombia last night at the World Cup yet?

Of course you're not. The Three Lions made it through to the quarter-finals for the first time since 2006 - winning their first ever penalty shootout at a World Cup in the process.

Needless to say, everyone was pretty excited about the prospect of reaching the last eight and facing Sweden on Saturday afternoon, but there's a time and a place for this kind of excitement.

One England fan outed himself in dramatic fashion as the winning penalty was slotted home by Eric Dier, celebrating wildly in a bar surrounded by fans in Colombia shirts.

Looking at the video, it is no small wonder he didn't get punched by one of the many fans of the South American side - if only because he looks like he also chucked his whole pint over everyone who was stood around him.

The guy, who was wearing a Leeds United jacket, and who is also possibly a Tim Westwood impersonator by trade, went absolutely ape shit at the game's conclusion.

To be fair to him, it is difficult to contain yourself when you get a result after having been made to work very hard for it.

He is still celebrating as quite a few fans of Los Cafeteros head for the bar's exits. The bar was in Moscow, so there were probably quite a few Russians there, too, but you can hear some pretty choice words thrown in his direction that don't bear translating from Spanish.

In Moscow, the England fans found themselves vastly outnumbered. Some estimates reckon there were only about 5,000 England fans in the stadium and the rest were Colombian.

Those odds don't look too much better for the Leeds and England fan in this bar, that is apparently about 100 metres from the Spartak Stadium. With any luck, some other England fans arrived to have a drink with him - or what was left of him - after they left the stadium.

England's fans were made to wait for their celebrations last night after Yerry Mina's late goal cancelled out Harry Kane's opener from the spot.

An inspired save from Jordan Pickford gave England match point in the shootout, and Eric Dier's calmness under pressure showed through and sent this Leeds fan off on his mission, presumably fuelled by some Dutch courage, and then potentially to hospital.

I'm sure he thinks it was worth it, though.
