Fella Calls 'Saturday Kitchen' To Tell Them He's Got Crabs

"I’m looking for a recipe that’ll cure it."

If you host a TV show and then invite viewers to call in, then you have expect at least one piss-taker.

Giving people free reign on live telly is a recipe for disaster for hosts, but a cauldron of entertainment for us. Matt Tebbutt, host of Saturday Kitchen, found this out first hand.

A common segment on the show invites people to phone in and ask for advise on cooking with certain ingredients. One caller, Doug, rang up in a dilemma with crabs.

However, it wasn't the sweet tasting shellfish he was on about, it was indeed crab louse, otherwise known as pubic louse.

Doug, from Hastings, the poor guy, was after a 'recipe' to cure the infestation of insects feeding exclusively on the blood surrounding his genitals.

"I've got crabs and I'm looking for a recipe that'll cure it," he said, with a few laughs coming from the studio. Tebbutt almost succumbed to the joke, but managed to pull a straight face and shush the people laughing.

Styling it out, he asked the chefs what sort of dishes one could make using crab meat. Back in the day a lot of people would have been none the wiser, but given that there's Sky+ and so on, it's easy to rewind, video it, and alert everyone to it.

The presenter does manage to slip in some wise advice though, saying: "Don't play with it, Doug."

You only get one shot, so you've got to take it. Doug well and truly took his.

Harmless laughs all round.
