Weather Reporter Literally Gets Blown Away By Wind During Broadcast

Couldn't write it.

Anything can happen during live television, and that's what gives it a bit of an edge.

The thought at the back of your mind that at any moment something could go wrong makes it more exciting, and it tends to happen more often than you realise.

The latest to fall victim to the perils of a live broadcast was reporter Deric Hartigan, who was doing a weather forecast on Irish channel TV3.

There must have been a decision made to do the reports outside in order to capture the true essence of the weather, which came across very well, as Hartigan was actually blown out of shot.

He was in the midst of saying: "Plenty of scattered showers in the mix, we'll have full details. All the latest traffic to help you avoid those hotspots...plus lots of your photos to put a bit of a...," at which point his umbrella caught the breeze and swept him away, prompting a 'ooooh' sound.

He did however finish what he was saying, despite the mishap, adding: "...smile on your face."

Back in the studio, hosts Sinead Desmond and Mark Cagney saw the funny side, as did Deric, later claiming it to be a 'career highlight'.

He also posted the clip to Twitter, showing that the incident wasn't all that serious.

When it comes to live news broadcasts though, the top prize has to go to this Aussie bloke.

Daniel McConnell is the man who chased someone who crashed into his mate's mum's fish and chip shop... in his boxers.

There are pretty much no words that could do the interview any justice, so you're just going to have to watch it with the knowledge that it's the 'Most. Aussie. Interview. Ever'.

"I come outside in me jocks, and I seen old mate, and I said, 'oi, what are you doing here mate, you gotta wait here,' and he's like, 'nah, nah, I fell asleep behind the wheel'," Daniel told TODAY reporter Jess Millward. "He's just started taking off, so I've run inside, jumped in me little purple car, and started chasing him up the street.

"He went down a side street, and I told the coppers he went down a side street, and they went and got him.

"I was just chasing him in me jocks."

Not all heroes wear capes.
