A young girl confused everyone when she turned up to her prom in a coffin.
You'd be forgiven for assuming that the girl is a goth, or at least an emo.

Well, I can't confirm what she's got on her Spotify playlists but she doesn't look like she chains Thy Art Is Murder or Cradle of Filth while petting a crow.

Megan Flaherty, 17, from New Jersey, arrived at Pennsauken High School's junior prom in a hearse and coffin.
I'm so jealous. I wish I'd thought of that.

As you can see from the video above, she is driven into the car park in a hearse, then carried out in an open coffin before awkwardly walking away. Her date, Stephen Caldwell, didn't turn up in a coffin. I'm a bit gutted really, he could've dressed up like a mummy or something and really took the piss.

It turns out that her reason for the bizarre entrance kind of makes sense. When I say kind of, I mean there's a vague link.
Basically, she wants to be a funeral director after college, and plans to attend Mercer County Community College's funeral service program. Speaking to NJ.com, she explained that she wanted to follow in the footsteps of a family friend, Dennis McGee. You may recognise him as the bloke wearing the top hat in the video.
She added: "I made sure my prom date was OK with it."
When asked about the reaction, she said: "I don't think they were really processing it. I'm a quiet person in school, so people didn't expect it."

Nope, I don't think anyone would have expected that at a high school prom. But hey, she's managed to go viral and hopefully this will help her application to the funeral service program. Win win.
