Artificial Intelligence can help us massively. It's enabled us roam planets that, 50 years ago, were well beyond our reach; it can explore things on Earth that just isn't possible for us humans - including in medical treatment; and is slowly helping us in our everyday lives.

Right now, AI robots are serving customers at a bar in London, and they are helping 'service' clients in another way - yes, sex robots exist!

In its primitive days, you'll probably remember SmarterChild - the instant messaging AI service, on things like MSN Messenger, which could respond to basic messages.

A few years ago, Microsoft designed Chatbot. It was was designed to learn how to converse through what it learned on Twitter - it's safe to say that didn't go well.

Now, in depths of the world wide web, a new one has emerged. It's called InspiroBot and its purpose is to creative motivational posters for you.

You get the gist of the intentions: 'Life is 10 percent what happens to us, and 90 percent how we react to it'; 'If 'Plan A' didn't work, the alphabet has 25 more letters! Stay Cool!'; and 'You can't start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading the last one'.

Once you've finished throwing up over those cheesy lines, it's safe to say you'll make a full recovery by reading what InspiroBot created.

These sinister lines are quite reminiscent of everyone's fear of AI. When the good suddenly turns evil. A bit like in 2001: A Space Odyssey when the on-board computer, HAL 9000, rebels against its crew.

Its Twitter page reads: "Forever generating unique inspirational quotes for the endless enrichment of pointless human existence."

But, once you've got over the horror of the initial quote reading, you'll realise they actually do uplift you. There's a dark humour inside all of us, and this bot, I think, brings it out of us. Don't deny you didn't laugh when reading the above examples.
