Dogs are the best thing on this planet. End of. Any cat owners out there, don't @ me.
They're loyal, smart, cute and they're an integral member of any family lucky enough to have one. And so saying goodbye to them when it's their time to go to doggy heaven is truly heartbreaking.
Which is why one unknown pet owner was left devastated when a thief stole a memory card containing pictures of their dog on the last day she was alive.
In a bid to retrieve the photos, they put up a letter requesting that the person returns the photos anonymously.
The note, which was posted on a lamppost in Toronto, Canada, even goes as far as to say that whoever's guilty can keep all of the other belongings they took - the victim just wants those precious memories of their dog back where they should be.

It reads: "To the man who was in my house and robbed me. Keep the cash, and my DSLR, and whatever else you took.
"But if you have the memory card from the camera, please, it has photos of my dog's last day alive on it.
"I cannot replace those photos. Please throw it onto the porch or put it in the mail slot. Or mail it.
"Please. She died a few days ago. I cannot lose those photos as well."
If that doesn't make you cry, I don't know what will.
The internet was just as touched by the writer's gesture and people have been spreading the letter like wildfire in the hope that it might reach the robber.
That includes Facebook user Saoirse Morgan, who captioned the image: "Photo taken at Bloor and Lansdowne. This is simply heartbreaking. I hope this person does the right thing."
Her post alone has received over 27,000 shares at the time of writing, with many offering messages of support, and this number is growing by the second.
We can only hope that eventually it does get seen by the criminal in question and the memory card is returned to its rightful owner.
Losing a pet is essentially losing a family member so you can only imagine what this person is going through, knowing that their last pics are gone.
Thief, if you're reading this, do the right thing.
