Although the job title of 'Cookie Taster' sounds like some sort of fantasy out of a Roald Dahl book, Maryland wants to make that dream a reality.

The biscuit company is currently on the lookout for someone to come to its Scottish bakery and eat a load of cookies - and they bosses will pay you for the honour. All they need to do first is find out who's the biggest cookie fan.

Once they find them, that lucky person will be shipped off to Maryland Innovation Centre in Edinburgh, where they'll taste and share their thoughts on Maryland's entire range of cookies, including those not yet on the shelves.

What's more, they'll also get a chance to create their own Maryland recipe and the company will pay £350 for the job.

Sound like a bit of you? If you want to be in with a chance of bagging the position, apply on the Airtasker website by explaining the lengths you'd go to for a Maryland cookie.

Convince them how much you love their biscuits (nothing below the belt, obvs) and you could very well be appointed the new cookie taster. Oh, and make sure you submit your answer before the closing date on 26 July.

If you're at a loss of what to do, apparently some people have been submitting poems, including this rather inventive cookie-themed limerick:

"Crumbs what an offer,

A professional scoffer,

To sample your cookies for free.

I'd love you to risk it,

And give me the biscuit,

For a sensational taster, pick me!"

Feeling inspired? Good.

Discussing why Maryland is on the lookout for a temporary taste tester, Rachael Rayner, Brand Manager, said: "It's really important to us that we are constantly innovating and ensuring that Maryland Cookies remain the best tasting cookies on the market.

"Consumer feedback is vital, so we are excited about inviting the successful candidate into our bakery to taste our range and create their very own cookie right before their eyes. It really is a cookie lover's dream job!"

Even if you don't win, you could always host your own cookie 'taste test' (binge out) with your pals. You won't get paid for it, but that won't matter - because cookies.
