An American police officer managed to save a suicidal man's life after they realised they both hated the Dallas Cowboys.

Officer Michael Blackmore, the officer in the video, talks to the unnamed man for a while. The man then says that he no longer wants to live and he begins crying.

Eventually, the man said: "I hate Dallas." This gave the officer an idea, and he went with it - reports SportsDay.

The officer found out that the man was a Washington fan and managed to find some common ground. He said: "I'll see you sometime next week one day and say, 'How about those Redskins?'. I'm definitely gonna pull for them when they play Dallas because I hate Dallas."

Shortly afterwards, he and another officer managed to get the man away from the edge.

Fair play to him, and we hope the lad has got the help he needs.
