Man Beheads Snake After It Killed His Dog

Right or wrong?

What would you do if something, or someone, killed your dog? You'd get angry, and that's fine.

Grieving the death of someone is tough, and doing the same for a dog is equally hard, so reacting rashly is something that might be expected.

This guy went the full mile after a snake killed his dog when he viciously beheaded the serpent with a shovel.

Until you're put into a position like this man, you can't really say how you'd react. For one, you'd be furious at the death of your pet, however, taking another animal's life may not be the answer, even if it is one of the more feared creatures in the world. But this didn't stop him.

Australian professional snakecatcher Tony Harrison turned up to the scene and was pretty annoyed at what he found.

He shared the pictures of the brutally decapitated snake, posting a message that in summary focused on the man not feeling any better about what had happened.

"Just went to a job. Turned up to a fella with shovels and this... Front 1m of this eastern brown is still in retaining wall... now at first was soooooo angry... it could have gotten very messy as I was angry and so was snake killer," Tony Wrote. "BUT. This snake just had a run in with his dog.

"So I understand the mentality behind his actions... It's his family... The snake defended itself and killed his family."

He continued: "So you can imagine the reasoning went out the window, although his actions did not bring his dog back, it did not make him feel better, it did risk his life doing it, it also risked his neighbour's kids and dog's life.

"It is still a risk as the front half is still alive and very upset. It also cost his neighbour 88 bucks for nothing.

"The snake did not plan to kill his dog, but the dog did plan to kill the snake.

"The snake just defended itself. Now we are down two animals.

"Please don't teach your dogs to grab snakes; this happens...

"I feel bad for the snake and seeing the owner of the dog in the state he was in brought back way too many emotions from six months ago for myself...

"Let's leave it at that."

On the one hand you can see the man's anger and frustration which led him to kill the snake, but on the other hand it may have been rather rash to do it.
